Software Engineer 4

Overview

This role is responsible for the technical design, development, installation, and maintenance of software applications and services, and for building technical solutions that help other developers and engineers deliver faster. It also covers technical need analysis, project management, and guidance and coaching of reportees.

What you'll do

• Lead the building of software development projects and platforms while aligning them with business and security strategies and requirements.
• Build standards, design, and automate the deployment of software.
• Design and develop solutions that protect and manage software products and data.
• Contribute to technology strategy and engineering roadmaps around software engineering, and execute strategic software engineering proof of concepts.
• Assist supervisors with project development, including documentation of features, recording of progress, and creation of the testing plan.
• Consult with the business to determine logical design for new business solutions according to existing data architecture.
• Interact with user management regarding project status and user requirements to promote improved productivity and satisfaction.
• Supervise the work of external engineering vendors, analyze the testing performed by vendors, and provide feedback and expertise to technicians.
• Assist in scheduling, determining manpower requirements, and estimating costs to project completion to meet user requirements.
• Identify, recommend and implement changes to enhance effectiveness of engineering, implementation and service strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across different departments and provide guidance and coaching to reportees in executing their tasks and responsibilities.

What you'll need

• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or any other related discipline, or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in software designing and development, software architecture, programming languages, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Agile Methodology, Application Programming Interface (API), Computer Science, Full Stack Development, Software Development, and Software Engineering.
• Knowledge of C++ and Java (programming languages).
• Knowledge and skills in Android Display stack, HWcomposer and Graphics Pipeline (BufferQueue, Rendering Optimization), OpenCL, Vulkan, Surface flinger, Multimedia framework, Performance optimization (Jank, Preview stutter) and Profiling tools, Complex animations/UI transitions, Connectivity (BT/WiFi), and Media (Video/Audio/Camera).
• Cross-org skills: Effective Communication, Results Orientation, Learning Agility, Digital Fluency, Customer Centricity.

Nice to have

• Programming Language certification (Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar).
