Software Engineer

Overview

Software Engineer role focused on wireless features and systems, driving design, implementation, and optimization of customer wireless solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead technology design, planning, and deployment of wireless solutions targeting reliability, availability, latency, resilience, and performance.
• Collaborate with customers to plan, design, configure, and validate Cisco wireless technologies including Wi‑Fi standards through Wi‑Fi 8.
• Write and uplift Python-based test automation scripts to improve wireless testing frameworks and automation efficiency.
• Use AI/ML to uplift test automation and develop test plans tailored to wireless and Wi‑Fi 8 reliability requirements.
• Assist with integration and implementation of tools, systems, and service assurance for wireless networks, including telemetry analysis and alerting.
• Execute test cases and plans for projects covering functional, interoperability, roaming, latency, packet-loss, reliability, performance, and regression validation.

What you'll need

• Deep domain engineering and configuration knowledge of Cisco wireless technologies.
• Working knowledge of Wi‑Fi standards including Ultra High Reliability concepts and deterministic/tail-latency behavior.
• Strong expertise in AI/ML applications for test automation and productivity improvements.
• Experience writing comprehensive test plans and building automation tools for wireless validation areas.
• Strong wireless troubleshooting skills for interference, congestion, roaming, latency, packet loss, and multi-AP scenarios.
• Ability to create and deliver technical documentation and training materials.
