Overview
Senior Principal Engineer to architect, design, and develop enterprise wireless access point software for Wi‑Fi 6/6E/7 solutions, integrating embedded firmware with cloud-managed networking.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end software architecture for advanced Wi‑Fi features from silicon SDK integration to cloud-managed provisioning.
- Design and develop enterprise Wi‑Fi capabilities using Wi‑Fi 6, 6E, and Wi‑Fi 7 standards.
- Architect and implement wireless application features including Wi‑Fi Mesh, NAN, and 802.11mc/802.11az fine timing/locationing.
- Deliver advanced enterprise roaming using 802.11k/v/r.
- Collaborate with Wi‑Fi chipset vendors on SDK integration, firmware customization, performance tuning, and hardware enablement.
- Build cloud-managed and firewall-managed capabilities such as Zero-Touch Provisioning, remote configuration, monitoring, and centralized control.
What you'll need
- Experience in enterprise Wi‑Fi access point product development and IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) plus WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise.
- Hands-on development experience for firmware/wireless applications including Wi‑Fi Mesh, NAN, 802.11mc, 802.11az, and 802.11k/v/r roaming.
- Expert knowledge of Embedded Linux, Linux kernel internals, device drivers, hostapd, wpa_supplicant, and system-level debugging.
- Strong C/C++ development for resource-constrained embedded networking platforms.
- Networking background including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, and enterprise network protocols.
- Practical knowledge of network security integrations such as firewall systems, IDS/IPS, threat detection, and policy enforcement at the AP level.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of DPI, malware detection, sandboxing, and SDN for large-scale wireless deployments.
- Experience with cloud-managed networking platforms, telemetry/analytics collection, and DevOps/automation frameworks.
- RF concepts understanding including DFS, dynamic channel planning, interference mitigation, and automated performance optimization.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications in wireless networking such as predictive optimization, Wi‑Fi analytics, or anomaly detection.
