Packet Forwarding Software Engineer

Overview

Packet Forwarding Software Engineer designing and enhancing portions of systems software, including networking and OS components.

What you'll do

• Design limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software subsystems.
• Analyze designs to determine required coding, programming, and integration activities.
• Execute and write parts of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned application portions.
• Debug code issues and suggest changes or improvements.
• Collaborate with project teams and internal/external development partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Communicate software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution with partners.

What you'll need

• Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically have 8+ years of professional experience.
• Use software systems design tools and programming languages.
• Have strong OS concepts, including Linux.
• Have very good programming skills in C and C++.
• Have strong networking fundamentals including data plane/L2/L3 forwarding, ACL, and firewall.

• Role is designed as Onsite, primarily working from an HPE office.
• Location: Bengaluru, Karnātaka, India.
