Software Engineer - Backend

Overview

Backend-focused Software Engineer role designing, building and maintaining APIs, services and systems for Sardine's fraud and financial crime risk platform.

What you'll do

• Design, create and maintain robust, efficient and reliable backend services to meet the platform's evolving needs.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to architect and implement new services from inception to delivery.
• Contribute to developing new features and capabilities that deliver substantial value to customers.
• Work with various engineering and product teams to synchronize efforts and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
• Craft and maintain user-facing technical documentation to enhance user understanding and facilitate seamless adoption of services.
• Play a pivotal role in shaping the company's engineering culture and maintaining high engineering standards across the organization.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer specializing in web backend development.
• A track record of successfully delivering high-quality production services and systems.
• Customer-centric approach with a strong emphasis on empathy towards users.
• Relevant industry experience, particularly in banking or fintech, and domain knowledge in fraud prevention or compliance.
• Proficient in English, from casual chats to formal reports.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Golang.
• Experience in data engineering.

Details

• Remote, within India. Must reside in one of: Bangalore/Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, Mumbai or Pune.
• Must keep a home base in the country you are hired in; pay is based on your location.
