Engineering Manager

Overview

Lead engineering work for complex systems that impact critical business objectives, while supporting team growth and improving the product development life cycle.

What you'll do

• Architect innovative solutions for critical, complex and challenging problems by designing and developing highly scalable, available and reliable applications.
• Set up best practices and identify areas of continuous improvement of the product development life cycle.
• Develop roadmaps for system and product growth, ensuring timely execution and quality delivery.
• Manage stakeholders like designers, business analysts and product managers by providing delivery plans and estimates in an Agile environment.
• Create clear career paths for team members through regular and deep mentoring.
• Perform regular performance evaluation.
• Innovate, develop and deliver complex systems impacting critical business objectives.

What you'll need

• 8-12 years of experience in good product-based companies and preferably product start-ups.
• Strong grasp of scalable web back-end, streaming and full stack development.
• Good experience handling production and performance issues and all genres of platform technologies.
• Deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available setup.
• Deep understanding and expertise with highly transactional, large relational and complex web/desktop-based systems.
• Experience hiring and growing a top-notch engineering team and scaling the organization.
• Strong understanding of business processes and the application of technology to implement and thereafter streamline them.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience developing, designing and scaling complex systems both horizontally and vertically.
• A strong vision and excitement for contributing to the growth of an amazing product start-up.

Nice to have

• Experience in product start-ups is preferred.
• Start-up experience is highly preferred.
