Overview

Software Engineer developing and integrating system software for Cisco IOS XE switching, routing, wireless, and industrial IoT products.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and test scalable software components and features.
• Develop control-plane and data-plane software for networking products.
• Analyse requirements and create software designs and solutions.
• Write detailed design documents and functional specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Improve development lifecycles, engineering processes, and practices.
• Develop ideas that may support patents and intellectual property creation.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 3+ years with a master's degree, or 0+ years with a PhD.
• Experience with control-plane or data-plane software.
• Proficiency writing quality code in C/C++.
• Experience developing software or firmware for networking products.
• Knowledge of software architecture and system design.
• Experience with data structures and Linux, RTOS, or networking OS internals.
• Experience with wireless technologies or networking protocols.

Nice to have

• Experience with traffic generators or analysers such as IXIA or Sniffer.
• Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, BGP, or OSPF.
• Experience with high availability, IPC, memory management, containers, or virtualization.
• Cisco networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
