Overview
Early-career Software Engineer to build a grant-funding platform across backend, frontend, and an AI pipeline, working closely with the CTO.
What you'll do
- Ship end-to-end features from backend development through the user interface.
- Work across the stack using React, Node/Express, Postgres, and AWS.
- Help build and improve the platform’s AI pipeline, including prompt engineering and AI evaluations.
- Trace, debug, and fix bugs in the production environment.
- Work with the CTO and grant team on solutions tied to real user problems.
- Use production tooling such as Sentry and CloudWatch during debugging.
What you'll need
- 1–3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer or recent university graduation with strong projects.
- Solid fundamentals in TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Curiosity and willingness to work across the full stack.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to dig into problems.
- Comfort receiving feedback to improve technical skills.
- AI-native approach to development, including familiarity with Claude Code or Cursor.
- User-first mindset focused on building software that works for real people.
Nice to have
- First experience with AI tools or LLM APIs via university or side projects.
- German language skills at B1 level or above.
- A side project, open-source contribution, or other independently built work.
