Software Engineer - Cloud SRE

Overview

Software Engineer – Cloud SRE will help run and improve eBay’s cloud infrastructure reliability using SRE and cloud-native practices.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with internal customers and partners to deliver business outcomes.
• Ensure cloud products are reliable, scalable, efficient, and compliant with security and operational standards.
• Improve observability with monitoring and alerting across cloud services.
• Respond to cloud incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans.
• Analyze performance metrics and recommend improvements to system performance and resource utilization.

What you'll need

• Minimum 3+ years programming experience with Go or Python.
• 5+ years implementing large-scale distributed high-availability fault-tolerant systems in production.
• Expertise in observability tools and practices.
• Extensive SRE experience with Kubernetes (or related cloud infrastructure/cloud-native technologies).
• Deep understanding of API design and RESTful principles for web services at scale.
• Ability to deliver products within a multi-functional team environment.
