Software Engineer I - AssureHire (Go)

Overview

Software Engineer I for AssureHire, a support-engineering-focused role combining customer-facing problem solving with hands-on backend development in Ruby on Rails and Go.

What you'll do

• Investigate, reproduce, and diagnose technical escalation tickets reported by customers and internal teams.
• Communicate with stakeholders to gather context, set expectations, and report resolution status.
• Convert escalations into self-service engineering work by writing code, opening PRs, and seeing fixes through deployment.
• Use AI-assisted tooling to triage issues (product bug, configuration problem, or expected behavior) and draft candidate solutions.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis to reduce recurring escalations via code, documentation, and runbooks.
• Follow secure development practices for least-privilege access and handling sensitive candidate/customer data.

What you'll need

• 0–2 years of professional software development experience (internships, co-ops, and substantial projects count).
• Working proficiency in Go; Python is a plus.
• Familiarity with relational databases and ability to read/write SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Strong debugging skills, including reproducing issues and tracing problems across systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication for non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort using AI tools with judgment to review AI-generated analysis/code.
• Unix shell scripting.
