Software Engineer II

Overview

Software Engineer II responsible for building and enhancing end-to-end digital solutions for the Palantir engineering portfolio at General Mills. You will design, develop, test, and deliver scalable applications, collaborating with engineers, architects, and product stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product partners, and business stakeholders to design and deliver software solutions.
• Translate storyboards and use cases into functional, scalable applications using the .NET stack and modern web frameworks.
• Ensure code meets engineering standards, testing practices, and maintainability expectations.
• Write unit and integration tests and contribute to automation improving delivery quality and team efficiency.
• Optimize application performance, quality, responsiveness, and reliability across the software lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and application issues with ownership.
• Participate in technical and code reviews, work planning, estimation, and implementation activities.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• System-level knowledge building end-to-end applications using .NET Full Stack (C#, ASP.NET MVC/Blazor, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs).
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining scalable applications across multiple layers.
• Experience with DevOps concepts/tools (CI/CD practices, containers, source control workflows).
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database platforms.
• Strong understanding of agile ways of working (sprint planning, task estimation, iterative delivery).

Nice to have

• Degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as GCP or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Python/Next JS, AI agentic development, and Tableau is beneficial.
• Experience with modern DevOps tooling such as GitHub Actions or container-based deployment practices.
