MTS 2, Software Engineer - FullStack

Overview

Software Engineer working on eBay’s Advertising and Marketing Technology platforms for high-scale frontend, backend, APIs, and data/AI engineering workflows.

What you'll do

• Design and build advertising and marketing platform features for eBay sellers and advertisers.
• Develop scalable, highly available applications, APIs, and services using Marko, React, Node.js, Java, and Scala.
• Own end-to-end delivery of complex features from technical design through deployment and production support.
• Drive technical decisions, system design, and cross-team collaboration for scalable, reliable solutions.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) for coding, debugging, testing, and code review.
• Collaborate with ML engineers on LLM integrations, recommendation systems, and campaign optimization.

What you'll need

• 10+ years work experience with a BS/BA in Computer Science or related field.
• Or an MS with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience building modern web applications at scale using React (or similar frameworks) and HTML/CSS.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and responsive design.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle/Postgres/MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (Cassandra/MongoDB), including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems and evaluating trade-offs (consistency, availability, latency, cost).
• Experience using AI-assisted development practices and tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or equivalent).
