Software Engineer Specialist

Overview

Software Engineer Specialist role focused on building and evolving cloud foundation services for SaaS products. Hands-on ownership spans design, implementation, quality, and operational readiness of complex distributed services.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and evolve scalable cloud foundation services used across multiple products.
• Own detailed technical design and implementation from requirements through production.
• Write high-quality code while solving complex distributed systems and engineering problems.
• Partner with architects to translate architectural direction into production software.
• Improve reliability, performance, observability, testability, and maintainability of platform services.
• Lead code reviews and root-cause analysis for complex production issues.
• Mentor engineers through hands-on collaboration and technical guidance.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend, cloud-native, or large-scale SaaS applications.
• Strong hands-on software engineering with Java/JVM technologies and modern backend frameworks.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience translating architecture/high-level designs into detailed technical designs and production-ready implementations.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals (scalability, concurrency, consistency, availability, resiliency, fault tolerance).
• Experience developing and operating scalable applications on AWS or another major cloud platform.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Amazon DynamoDB, including data modeling and performance optimization.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Git.
• Experience diagnosing production problems using logs, metrics, distributed tracing, profiling, and performance analysis.
• Experience mentoring engineers via design reviews and code reviews.
