Software Engineer II (Java, backend)

Overview

Software Engineer II joining the InsuranceNow product development team in Bangalore within Guidewire’s Product Development & Operations organization.

What you'll do

• Analyze product requirements and translate them into functional definitions and software designs.
• Develop product features and write automated tests, spending over 80% of time on hands-on coding.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for InsuranceNow services.
• Maintain secure code and resolve application security findings with security teams.
• Triage and resolve code defects to keep releases high-quality and reliable.
• Support scalability, availability, and data security for InsuranceNow product services.

What you'll need

• 2–3 years of experience using Java and object-oriented programming.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with continuous delivery, continuous integration, unit testing, and related practices.
• Cloud services knowledge such as AWS is required as a “huge plus” (preferred).
• Understanding of SSO/SAML and authentication/authorization concepts is a “big plus” (preferred).
• Willingness to learn the insurance domain; prior insurance experience not required.
