Overview
Software Engineer II responsible for performing complex development and testing activities for self-service financial industry software, including CEN XFS-based solutions, with less supervision. The role involves client communication, deliverable ownership, mentoring, and developing expertise in relevant products, technologies, and methodologies.
What you'll do
- Use NCR/PS systems and tools with minimal direction.
- Understand professional services implementation methodology and/or custom development methodology and apply aspects to your role.
- Work effectively with direct and indirect NCR team members.
- Engage with client counterparts to produce deliverables and communicate associated status as necessary.
- Lead higher-level internal and external communication, including weekly status meetings, issue tracking, and informal design sessions.
- Identify issues with minimal input from the team leader or manager.
- Provide proactive guidance or support to more junior team members.
- Deliver quality results within tight timelines in a demanding environment.
- Identify areas to expand the work product.
- Act as a team lead on a specific set of deliverables.
- Mentor more junior team members.
- Perform complex development and testing activities with less supervision.
- Develop expertise in a specific product, technology, or methodology.
- Participate in activities to expand knowledge, such as reading materials and attending conferences.
- Provide input and technical content for technical documentation, user help materials, and customer training.
- Work in Agile practices such as Kanban/SCRUM.
- Conduct root cause analysis.
- Work in continuous test and build environments.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
- 2-3 years of related experience focused on the self-service financial industry and CEN XFS based solutions.
- 2-3 years of self-service financial industry software design and development experience.
- Ability to work under tight timelines in a demanding environment.
- Related operational experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Strong AngularJS, Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript skills with 2-3 years of experience.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills and application development/support in C# and C#.NET with 2-3 years of experience.
- Very good knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 with 2-3 years of experience.
- Good knowledge of WPF and WinForms.
- Good knowledge of UI/UX design.
- Good understanding of test automation frameworks.
- Good understanding of secure development lifecycles.
- Good understanding of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Experience working with large teams using SAFe/Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of requirements gathering.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand diverse English accents.
- Good team collaboration for peer reviews and mentorship.
- Strong arithmetic and logical thinking.
- Good understanding of and adaptability to legacy systems.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating AI/ML solutions, such as predictive models, NLP, or automation, into enterprise applications.
- Experience with WPF and WinForms.
- Experience with wireframe tools such as Figma.
- Ability to evaluate risk independently and propose contingency plans.
- Good business acumen and ability to negotiate up-sell and margin improvement.
- Ability to provide Business Impact Analysis at an enterprise level.
