SW Engineer II - Blockchain Developer

Overview

Build enterprise-grade decentralized solutions as a Blockchain & Backend Developer. Develop smart contracts, backend services, and Azure enterprise integrations while collaborating with senior engineers, Product, Security, and DevOps in an Agile/Scrum environment.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain decentralized applications (dApps), including writing smart contracts, defining ledger logic, and handling data persistence patterns under the guidance of senior architects.
• Implement high-performance backend services, REST/GraphQL APIs, and integration layers, ensuring clean code, proper pagination, and backward compatibility.
• Assist in deploying and maintaining blockchain nodes and supporting microservices on Azure environments, including AKS, Azure SQL/PostgreSQL, Key Vault, and Service Bus.
• Apply cryptographic signature models, permissioning frameworks, certificate management, and secure data privacy practices.
• Write comprehensive automated unit, integration, and smart contract tests.
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for continuous delivery.
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and estimate your own development tasks.
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to resolve bugs and deployment blockers.

What you'll need

• 3 years of experience.
• Professional backend software development experience using Java, Kotlin, or Go.
• Hands-on experience or familiarity in writing and deploying smart contracts or working directly with distributed ledger technology (DLT).
• Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals: consensus mechanisms, basic cryptography, transaction flows, and smart contract states.
• Experience architecting and implementing AI-assisted developer workflows using modern tools such as GitHub Copilot and Replit to draft, document, and scale application features.
• Ability to critically review AI-generated code drafts for logic, edge-case handling, security, and performance constraints.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud provisioning, Key Vault, containerization including Docker and AKS, and basic application monitoring.
• Proficiency with microservices, API design, and standard security protocols such as OAuth2 and mTLS.
• Tooling expertise in Git, Jira, Gradle/Maven, and standard CI/CD workflows.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills, with a desire to learn from senior engineers.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with enterprise DLTs such as R3 Corda, Hyperledger Fabric, or Ethereum/EVM-based frameworks.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, database migration tools such as Liquibase/Flyway, or basic query optimization.
• Basic exposure to Terraform, Bicep, or Kubernetes.
• Background or interest in capital markets, payments, trade finance, or supply chain.
• Ability to design highly effective prompt libraries, system instructions, and agent workflows that align with engineering standards.
