Overview
Lead multiple software engineering teams or a complex engineering domain delivering enabling-function solutions. Drive scalable engineering outcomes aligned to enterprise strategy as a senior people leader and technical delivery authority.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop software engineers across teams.
- Set clear direction, priorities, and delivery expectations at domain level.
- Role-model strong leadership, accountability, and engineering excellence.
- Ensure solutions follow agreed software architecture, DevOps, and security patterns.
- Oversee complex technical decisions, cross-team dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Partner closely with Architecture, DevOps, AI, and Enablement leadership.
- Be accountable for delivery outcomes across multiple teams or portfolios.
- Proactively manage delivery, financial, and operational risks.
- Ensure consistent adoption of engineering standards and controls.
- Shape the evolution of enterprise software engineering practices.
- Mentor software engineers and build leadership capability.
- Contribute to strategic planning and investment decisions.
What you'll need
- Strong experience leading multi-team engineering delivery to achieve predictable outcomes, capability uplift and stakeholder confidence.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to manage complexity at scale.
- Demonstrated ability ensuring delivery is consistent, efficient and aligned to organisational priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and align business leaders, product teams, and engineering teams around shared objectives and manage trade-offs effectively.
- Leadership style that empowers Arcadians, promotes accountability and continuous improvement, and supports a healthy, inclusive and high engagement culture aligned to the Arcadis Leadership profile of being curious, driving success and igniting passion.
- 5+ years’ post-undergraduate experience in technology engineering leadership.
- A demonstrated track record of delivering complex engineering outcomes and improving performance through governance, prioritisation and capability development.
- Degree level education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong leadership experience in engineering management, delivery performance and technical governance across multiple teams or services.
