Software Engineer, Workforce Management

Overview

Software Engineer on Motive's Workforce Management engineering team, designing, building and maintaining scalable software that helps physical operations teams manage their workforce more effectively.

What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable, reliable services and product features.
• Own engineering projects from technical planning through delivery and ongoing improvement.
• Identify root causes and resolve complex issues across services and systems.
• Improve the performance, observability, and maintainability of existing software.
• Collaborate with product, design, and adjacent engineering teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor teammates and share knowledge across the engineering organization.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, Go, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
• Experience designing and building distributed, scalable, and reliable systems.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, and software development fundamentals.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, microservices, testing, and continuous integration and delivery.
• Ability to independently drive projects and make sound technical decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
