Overview
Lead the technical direction and delivery of backend solutions within a high-performing agile team. Ensure technical designs align with architectural standards, security requirements and business objectives while enabling development, testing, deployment and operational support through a DevOps model.
What you'll do
- Lead backend solution design and implementation in alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards and business objectives.
- Drive coding, testing, deployment and operational support best practices within a CI/CD and DevOps framework.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developers and quality engineers.
- Ensure solutions are performant, maintainable and meet business and customer needs.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Operations, Security, Data, Tech Enablement and Product teams to ensure compliance and integration.
- Support production systems, troubleshoot issues and implement fixes to maintain service reliability.
- Maintain documentation for technical designs, processes and operational procedures.
- Work across multiple delivery teams, coordinating with offshore teams and onshore architects and stakeholders.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Provide architectural oversight and stakeholder coordination for Amazon Connect implementations, including call flows, routing and Lambda integrations.
- Collaborate with contact centre operations and product teams to translate business requirements into IVR and routing designs.
- Support Amazon Connect integration with CRM and backend systems, particularly Salesforce.
What you'll need
- Strong expertise in backend software design, development and architecture.
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices at scale.
- Solid experience with AWS cloud services and containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with test automation frameworks including Selenium, Playwright and JMeter, and implementing unit, integration and end-to-end tests.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Exposure to Amazon Connect, including call flows, routing profiles, queues and Lambda integrations.
- Understanding of IVR design principles and telephony concepts including SIP, PSTN and CTI.
- Experience or familiarity with Salesforce integration, particularly in a contact centre context, including Service Cloud and CTI.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams.
- Ability to work in an onshore/offshore model and coordinate across time zones.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge India-based delivery teams with Australian architects and product owners.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and influence decisions without direct authority.
Nice to have
- Java and Spring are strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with React or Next.js is a plus.
- AWS certification such as Solutions Architect or Developer.
- Agile certification such as CSM or SAFe.
- Experience in telecommunications, utilities or subscription-based services.
