Software (Technical) Support Engineer

Overview

Software (Technical) Support Engineer role based in Bangalore, supporting and troubleshooting software/VM environments and validating releases for Applied Materials’ products.

What you'll do

• Support and maintain a cluster of virtual machines running multiple Microsoft Windows OS versions in a VLAN environment.
• Develop and release updated virtual machines for new product introductions with updated OS/software baselines.
• Troubleshoot internal and external Microsoft/networking/application/system issues, including root-cause discovery and rapid resolution.
• Collect customer-specific test scenarios, construct test VMs, and execute test plans for software/VM release validation.
• Create, test, and verify installation/upgrade instructions and support field training on software procedures.
• Assist with analysis of customer OS performance and integration/database management issues, and provide updates/reports.

What you'll need

• Have 2–4 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of VMware infrastructure and functional operations.
• Basic understanding of software test simulation, scripts, requirements/specifications, execution, documentation, and test cases.
• Ability to track and report findings within an internal ticketing system.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, electronic engineering, or automation engineering.
• Fluent English language proficiency.

• Travel: 10% (mainly Taiwan), with travel within 10% of the time.
