Overview
The Software Technologist participates in full software development processes, serves as a recognized technical expert in specific areas, and delivers software solutions, testing, quality improvements, and technical documentation.
What you'll do
- Participate in full software development processes with broader autonomy and in pairing mode with other software team members, challenging requirements, design, and quality.
- Serve as a recognized technical expert in specific areas within the team.
- Lead the creation of software designs and provide guidance on best practices.
- Take on moderately complex software development tasks and collaborate with senior team members to deliver software solutions that meet project requirements.
- Develop and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and system test plans.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, identify potential bugs, and promote best practices.
- Support DevOps in deploying software.
- Set, monitor, and ensure own performance metrics are met.
- Define, monitor, and meet broader performance and quality metrics.
- Diagnose and resolve software defects by analyzing logs, reproducing issues, and implementing fixes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, API specifications, and user guides.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and software development best practices.
- Apply analytical skills to resolve medium complexity requests efficiently and exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
- 4–8 years of experience with Vocational Education in areas such as Software Development, Software Design and Architecture, Testing and Quality Assurance or equivalent.
