Overview
Solution Architect responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions for complex business problems, balancing technology risks with business delivery.
What you'll do
- Design and develop solutions that evolve and meet business requirements using modern software engineering practices.
- Identify and implement technologies and platforms, including cloud and automated delivery tooling.
- Apply workload placement strategies and maximize cloud capabilities like elasticity, serverless, and containerisation.
- Create security-focused designs aligned to resiliency expectations (e.g., defence in depth, blast radius reduction).
- Support operational teams with fault finding and performance issue resolution using available tooling.
- Assess solution impacts on risk, capacity, and cost, including change and ongoing run cost estimation.
What you'll need
- Excellent experience delivering complex end-to-end solution designs as a Solution Architect.
- Specialist understanding of architectural principles, best practices, and modern design methods.
- Ability to simplify complex challenges and deliver clear solution designs.
- Hands-on experience with private and public cloud, API development, and microservices.
- Experience with integration patterns and protocols (stated as must).
- Ability to create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought and interpretative problem solving.
Nice to have
- Experience designing solutions for mobile and internet-facing customer servicing platforms, ideally in Financial Services or Banking.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and guide strategic thinking through technology innovation.
- Expertise in complex systems integration and knowledge of implementation/integration challenges and architectural implications.
- Knowledge of corporate banking as an additional advantage.
