Overview

Data Platform Engineer (Spclst) responsible for architecting, improving, and automating a data platform with a focus on modern Data CI/CD.

What you'll do

• Design and evolve a scalable analytics engineering platform centered on dbt Cloud and GitHub-driven CI/CD.
• Establish deployment patterns and environment strategies (dev/test/prod) for dbt projects, including dependency management and release controls.
• Build automation for platform operations such as quality gates, approvals, notifications, versioning, and documentation generation.
• Implement GitHub Actions workflows for data pipeline preparation and deployment, including PR validation and merge-to-main orchestration.
• Create reusable workflow templates and “golden path” pipelines for dbt repositories.
• Own/guide dbt Cloud project setup, job design, scheduling strategy, and environment configuration.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform engineering with strong CI/CD ownership.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub including PR workflows, branch protections, and repo governance.
• Hands-on experience building GitHub Actions workflows using YAML, reusable workflows, secrets, and environments.
• Strong experience with dbt Cloud (projects, jobs, environments, CI features, artifacts).
• Proven experience designing deployment workflows and automation for data platforms.
• Strong SQL and understanding of data warehouse patterns (examples listed: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks).
