Specialist, Analytics Engineer

Overview

Analytics Engineer role within MSD’s Digital Human Health organization (DHH). You will design, develop, and support analytical data products to enable patient journey visibility and analytics across patient support services and related ecosystems.

What you'll do

• Develop and support last-mile analytical data products using modern software/data/DevOps practices.
• Build and maintain analytical data pipelines, automated data models, curated datasets, and semantic layers for analytics and AI use cases.
• Integrate patient-level data across multiple healthcare sources to create reusable, business-ready datasets.
• Enable analytics across the pre- and post-prescription patient journey (e.g., enrollment, benefits verification, prior authorization, therapy initiation/fulfillment, adherence, persistence, patient support engagement).
• Perform data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis for patient-level data sources.
• Ensure governance, privacy, compliance, quality, lineage, and documentation by design while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in Agile teams.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of relevant experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, healthcare analytics, or related fields.
• Experience with patient support services, specialty pharmacy, hubs, hub enrollment, aggregators, or related patient-level healthcare datasets.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, including building and optimizing analytical data models and pipelines.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and storage/compute services such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Redshift, or equivalents.
• Knowledge of data quality, metadata management, governance, lineage, and privacy principles for sensitive patient-level data.
• Ability to translate requirements/user stories into reliable technical solutions.
