Specialist, IT Software Asset Administration (SAM)

Overview

Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to support administration, tracking, and compliance of software assets, licenses, and subscriptions across the organization.

What you'll do

• Administer and track software assets across their lifecycle (requests, deployments, renewals, reclamation, and retirement).
• Maintain accurate records for software licenses, subscriptions, contracts, entitlements, and installations.
• Use ServiceNow SAM Pro (or similar tools) to support software asset management tasks.
• Support reconciliation, entitlement management, normalization, and reporting processes.
• Monitor software usage and help identify opportunities for license optimization and cost savings.
• Assist with license compliance reviews and audit readiness data gathering and documentation.
• Support reporting via dashboards and metrics related to software assets and compliance.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), software licensing, IT operations, or related.
• Experience working with asset management systems, software inventories, or license tracking processes.
• Basic understanding of software asset lifecycle management principles.
• Familiarity with software licensing models, including SaaS and subscription-based licensing.
• Working knowledge of Excel for reporting and analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining asset and license records.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
