Overview
The Senior Accountant for Accounting Governance & Reconciliation Controls supports reconciliation quality assurance, reconciliation policy compliance, SOX control activities, issue identification and remediation tracking, and governance reporting across Record-to-Report processes.
What you'll do
- Support account reconciliation quality assurance for balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and R2R activities.
- Monitor the accounting closing process and post required journal entry adjustments in the local ledger.
- Execute SOX and non-SOX control activities tied to account reconciliations and close processes.
- Produce monthly financial reports and analytics for risk-based monthly financial reviews.
- Facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities.
- Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and month-end reporting packages.
- Prepare reconciliation QA reports, KPI dashboards, variance reports, open item trackers, and audit status updates.
What you'll need
- Have 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting operations/Record-to-Report, SOX/ICFR, internal controls, audit, or compliance.
- Have hands-on experience reviewing or preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and month-end close support.
- Have working knowledge of SOX controls, ICFR testing, control evidence, audit documentation, SOPs, and remediation tracking.
- Use ERP and reconciliation tools such as SAP, BlackLine, ARMS/Hyperion or equivalent platforms.
- Have strong Excel and reporting skills for dashboards, trackers, and management summaries.
