Sr. Application Engineer I

Overview

Support pre-sales engineering for Fire Detection System projects, including scope review, estimation, system design, costing, and technical deliverables for regional projects.

What you'll do

• Review project inputs, specifications, and MEP drawings to define scope and requirements.
• Identify Fire Detection System equipment and prepare bills of material.
• Select hardware, software, equipment, materials, and services for project estimates.
• Prepare costing sheets, comparison charts, checklists, technical write-ups, and block diagrams.
• Participate in project kick-off and review meetings and maintain technical logs and minutes.
• Ensure quality, defect-free deliverables, timely delivery, and customer reporting.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, procurement, and project teams.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Fire Detection System design and estimation.
• BE in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics and Communication.
• Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm, VESDA, Linear Heat Detection, Fireman Intercom, and Gas Detection systems.
• Expertise in Fire Alarm codes and guidelines, including local requirements for Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Visio, and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and other network protocols.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Simplex and VESDA certifications.
• Knowledge of Simplex, Zettler, Xtralis, Securiton, and Wagner products.
