Sr. Application Engineer-Presales Security

Overview

Pre-sales engineering support for global Security System projects, covering bill of material preparation, cost estimation and competitive bid development in line with country-specific standards.

What you'll do

• Review project inputs and specifications to capture scope and understand the complete project requirements.
• Review MEP drawings, specifications and SOPs and identify equipment related to Security Systems (Access, Video, Intrusion, complete ELV systems, etc.).
• Prepare for and participate in project kick-off and review meetings, including technical queries, compliance/deviation logs, risk logs and minutes of meeting.
• Follow the standard estimation process and guidelines to select the proper combination of hardware, software, equipment, materials and services for an optimum budget.
• Create the bill of material, including selection of backend, controllers, field devices and software, network connections, and cable type and length calculations for Security Systems.
• Prepare costing sheets (including preliminaries and other costs), cost comparison charts, checklists, technical write-ups, block diagrams and deviation charts.
• Ensure quality assurance, defect-free deliverables, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Escalate issues in a timely manner so as not to affect the project delivery schedule; scope-creep escalations must be backed by clear evidence.
• Keep operational parameters at the desired level for all assigned projects.
• Ensure timesheet compliance for self and team, including entry and review.
• Provide weekly/monthly customer reporting on project progress.
• Actively participate in organization employee engagement initiatives.

What you'll need

• BE in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics & Communication.
• Strong knowledge of Security Systems (Access, Video, Intrusion, complete ELV systems, etc.).
• Expertise in Security Guidelines.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and Blue Beam.
• Knowledge of network protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC and other protocols.
• Basic knowledge of bill of material preparation and cost estimation to build a competitive bid.
• Quick learner, team player, with a keen eye for problem solving.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Security Systems.
