Sr Architect - Emerging Technologies (Fraud Detection and Governance)

Overview

Senior Architect for Emerging Technologies (Fraud Detection and Governance) within Twilio’s Experimentation Team, focused on designing and prototyping solutions that can move quickly to production. The role emphasizes architectural leadership, scalability/extensibility, and mentoring engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Architect and prototype scalable, high-performance solutions using modern technologies.
• Experiment and iterate on new product ideas using AI, machine learning, and emerging tech.
• Lead technical direction and mentor engineering teams across the development lifecycle.
• Partner cross-functionally to align prototypes with business opportunities and strategic goals.
• Communicate technical vision and results to stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Bridge technical decisions so experiments can be moved to production if successful.

What you'll need

• 15+ years in architecture or principal engineering roles in innovative, fast-paced environments.
• Applied fraud detection and governance framework experience.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and LLMs, including experience deploying models or AI-driven projects.
• Demonstrated success designing large-scale, high-performance architectures across AWS & Azure.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, Go).
• Experience with front-end (React, Angular) and back-end (Node.js, Spring, Spring Boot) development.
• Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and their tradeoffs.
