Sr Electrical Engineer – Federal Experience

Overview

Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer (Federal) to lead electrical design and power systems engineering for DoD and mission critical facility projects, with possible remote work for the right candidate.

What you'll do

• Lead or assist electrical design for power distribution infrastructure, including medium/low voltage, lightning protection, and grounding systems.
• Develop integrated controls sequences and schematics for power distribution equipment.
• Develop and edit product specifications for power distribution equipment and electrical components.
• Interface with client SMEs to coordinate power systems components, controls, and integration.
• Develop designs across the project lifecycle from site assessment and concept design through final design.
• Perform power systems studies using electrical models in SKM (or similar software).

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 8 years of relevant electrical power system design experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
• US Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
• Valid US Driver’s License and ability to pass motor vehicle records review.
• Revit or AutoCAD experience for creating and supervising electrical plans and details.
• Use of code-compliant design to interpret and implement client requirements.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license.
• 15+ years of experience.
• Experience with spot networks and micro-grid systems, lighting design, and electrical commissioning.
• Experience developing A/E services proposals.
• Knowledge of Department of Defense requirements including UFC and the National Electric Code.
