Sr. Engineer- Interconnect Wiring Harness Design (Avionics/Defence)

Overview

Senior Engineer responsible for interconnect and wiring harness design, hardware solution development, and engineering planning for avionics and defence products.

What you'll do

• Develop wiring harness designs and interconnection solutions.
• Define functional descriptions, technical requirements, and specifications.
• Prepare engineering plans for product development.
• Perform hardware design activities under the CHORUS 2.0 process.
• Define wiring harness testing and inspection requirements.
• Coordinate engineering activities across electronics, mechanical, and systems teams.
• Support engineering plans for subcontractors and partners.

What you'll need

• 4–7 years of experience in wiring harness design and manufacturing.
• Experience with interconnections, wiring, component packing, and printed circuit boards.
• Knowledge of product data packages, bills of material, components, materials, processes, and standards.
• Working knowledge of VeSyS 2020.1 and AutoCAD Premium.
• Knowledge of WHMA-620, IPC-610, SAE AS50881, and military wiring harness standards.
• Knowledge of electrical and wiring harness design standards and components.
• Experience with Excel automation, basic Python scripting, and regular expressions.

Nice to have

• Experience with CATIA V5, ATIM, or Mentor harness design tools.
• Ground transportation harness design experience.
• Cable harness manufacturing knowledge and industry exposure.
• Experience with project cost estimation, planning, execution, and deployment.
