Sr. Engineer- mechanical

Overview

Sr. Engineer, Mechanical (DMP) will lead and execute cost-out projects for aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous raw materials, partnering with global procurement and product teams.

What you'll do

• Lead enterprise strategic cost-out projects for aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous raw materials.
• Execute VAVE, resourcing, negotiation, and part rationalization initiatives to meet cost-out targets.
• Generate technically and commercially viable cost reduction ideas to improve product competitiveness.
• Drive productivity via supplier consolidation, data quality improvements, and reduction of part proliferation.
• Analyze commodity spend data and use data analytics/ideation to build a pipeline of cost-optimization projects.
• Partner with product engineering to evaluate material substitutions, design optimization, standardization, and value engineering while ensuring technical/regulatory compliance.
• Lead continuous improvement in lead time reduction, scrap optimization, process efficiency, and cost productivity across the supply base.

What you'll need

• 5-7 years of experience with a multinational engineering organization.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of requirements related to electrical components design and applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of Value Engineering principles and deployment.
• Ability to apply electrical design basics and product concepts for new cost-out opportunities.
• Experience working and interacting with global cross-functional, cross-cultural teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with internal/external customers and suppliers.
