Sr. Engineer - PPME Crankshaft (Machining Engineer)

Overview

Sr. Engineer – PPME Crankshaft (Machining Engineer) supports Supplier Quality to ensure externally sourced crankshafts meet quality and timing requirements throughout the program lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Support Supplier Quality (SQ) to ensure externally sourced crankshafts meet quality and timing requirements across the program lifecycle.
• Lead manufacturing process assessments for casting/forging, crankshaft machining, and assembly processes during supplier development and readiness checks.
• Support SQ with risk identification and mitigation using PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Resolve supplier quality concerns and open issues such as dimensional issues, cracks, surface finish, hardness, fatigue.
• Support GxDP / APQP milestones for supplier product development (e.g., sourcing, tooling kickoff, pilot builds).
• Support launch and post-SOP stability, including continuous improvement in scrap, rework, and throughput.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in Automobile / Mechanical allied Engineering industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automobile Engineering.
• Good working knowledge of Teamcenter, NX, Vis-mockup, AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Sound understanding of GPDP, Quality Chain, and PFMEA.
• Good knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).
• Knowledge in CNC programming including NX CAD / CAM and specifications reading.
• Basic coding skills on process automation and business intelligence tools.

Details

• Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
• Work arrangement: hybrid; expected to report to the office four times per week (or other frequency dictated by the business).
