Sr Executive - HIM services [ED Facility]

Overview

Senior Executive for HIM services supporting an emergency department facility, responsible for accurate medical coding from patient records.

What you'll do

• Extract relevant information from patient records.
• Examine documents for missing information.
• Assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9/ICD-10-CM, APC, DRG and ASA codes.
• Ensure documents are grammatically correct and free from typing errors.
• Perform chart audits.
• Inform supervisor of issues with equipment and computer programs.
• Ensure compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.
• Ensure that codes tally with doctors' diagnoses.
• Stay updated about new coding rules as codes change from time to time.
• Collect and distribute coding-related information and billing issues.

What you'll need

• Life Science graduation or any equivalent graduation with Anatomy/Physiology as main subjects.
• 2 to 4 years of work experience as a medical coder.
• Any one of the following coding certifications: CPC, COC, CRC, CPCP from AAPC; or CCS, CCSP, CCA from AHIMA.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong people skills and outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.

Details

• Location: Noida Luminaire.
• Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity required to operate office equipment.
• Ability to work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions.
• At times, sitting for prolonged periods.
• Infrequently, lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs.
• May experience elevated stress during periods of increased activity and with multiple deadlines.
