Overview
The Senior Integration Software Engineer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining scalable full-stack web applications, backend services, APIs, and integration components supporting RMF business and engineering systems. The role sets technical direction for complex, cross-system solutions using .NET Core / C#, Microsoft Azure, and Angular.
What you'll do
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for one or more RMF applications.
- Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, design guidance, and code reviews.
- Establish, document, and champion engineering standards, coding guidelines, branching strategies, and Definition of Done.
- Lead technical discovery, effort estimation, and risk assessment for complex features and cross-team dependencies.
- Act as an escalation point for critical production issues, leading root cause analysis and systemic fixes.
- Own end-to-end solution architecture for full-stack and integration components.
- Define API contracts, integration patterns, data flows, and service boundaries across enterprise applications, databases, and Azure cloud platforms.
- Evaluate and recommend frameworks, tools, and design approaches, producing architecture decision records and reference designs.
- Drive modernization, technical debt reduction, and continuous improvement of legacy and greenfield applications.
- Design, develop, test, and support scalable backend services, REST APIs, integration components, and full-stack applications.
- Develop responsive, reusable, and maintainable UI components.
- Implement integration solutions across enterprise applications, services, databases, and cloud platforms.
- Apply exception handling, validation, logging, versioning, dependency management, structured debugging, and secure configuration management.
- Create and maintain unit, integration, and regression tests.
- Develop and operate applications within an enterprise Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
- Support deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support of cloud-hosted applications.
- Use Azure monitoring and observability practices to identify issues, improve performance, and support production reliability.
- Develop intuitive, accessible, and responsive user interfaces using Angular.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and domain users to understand workflows and convert requirements into user experiences.
- Optimize frontend performance, browser compatibility, and usability.
- Work within Agile teams and participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional teams.
- Support production incidents, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
- Use enterprise-approved Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and validate AI-assisted outputs.
- Explore and responsibly adopt emerging engineering practices within approved enterprise guardrails.
- Work within Chevron-built and commonly adopted enterprise tools and align solutions with Chevron engineering standards.
What you'll need
- 10 – 15 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Deep, expert-level hands-on expertise in C#, .NET Core / .NET, ASP.NET Web API, and full-stack application development.
- Strong working knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS/SCSS.
- Experience building cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure PaaS services.
- Hands-on experience with REST API development, backend services, system integration, and SQL-based data access.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, dependency injection, object-oriented programming, asynchronous programming, debugging, source control, and testing.
- Experience using Git and Azure DevOps pipelines for source control, CI/CD, and release automation.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and ownership skills.
- Proven experience owning end-to-end solution and integration architecture for enterprise-grade, cloud-hosted applications.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive engineering standards and best practices across a team.
- Experience leading design reviews, code reviews, and technical decision-making for complex, cross-system initiatives.
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders, communicate technical trade-offs, and influence architecture and delivery decisions.
Details
- Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
- The standard work week is Monday to Friday.
- Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
- Work hours will be aligned to support global business requirements.
