Sr Manager - QA Automation

Overview

Lead and expand the QA team in Hyderabad, ensuring product quality, aligning QA efforts with company strategy, and serving as the primary liaison between India and the US (Sunnyvale).

What you'll do

• Recruit, onboard and develop a high-performing QA team.
• Foster a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Mentor QA engineers and support their professional development.
• Oversee day-to-day QA operations, ensuring efficient test planning and execution.
• Establish and maintain QA processes, standards and best practices.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases.
• Provide weekly status reports to HQ in the US, including progress, risks and key metrics.
• Act as the primary point of contact for on-site QA engineers, addressing concerns and enabling success.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product and leadership teams.
• Ensure QA activities and deliverables are aligned with company roadmap and top management priorities.
• Identify risks early and proactively propose mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to release planning and quality strategy at a global level.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience building and scaling QA teams.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools and automation frameworks.
• Experience working in a distributed/global environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across time zones.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working with HQ or stakeholders in the US.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Background in both manual and automated testing strategies.
• Ability to balance hands-on involvement with strategic leadership.
