Sr Product Software Engineer II

Overview

Build and own systems that enable rapid prototyping, testing and validation of interactive ad formats with real viewers and advertisers across Disney's CTV platforms, as part of the Ad Experiences Fleet within Ad Platforms.

What you'll do

• Hold a holistic understanding of the team's domain and serve as a point of contact for stakeholders.
• Lead by example, support peers, and improve code and design toward more scalable, clean and decoupled implementations.
• Facilitate discussions and drive resolution, ensuring outcomes are clear and well communicated.
• Design, implement and test fullstack solutions to engineering problems in a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environment.
• Use automated tools (AI) while adhering to company policy.
• Read and understand product user stories, translate them into actionable tasks, and lead the team through their execution.
• Enhance system observability with proper metrics, monitors and alerts.
• Take part in On-Call rotations based on the team's escalation policy and support schedule.

What you'll need

• BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Java, including understanding of memory management, multi-threading, profiling, thread pools, connection pools and HTTP protocols.
• Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Great communication and collaboration skills, and a strong teamwork ethic with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with SpringBoot and related Spring projects.
• Experience with non-relational database technologies such as DynamoDB.
• Experience with caching datastores such as Redis, ValKey or MemCache.
• Experience with data streaming mechanisms such as Apache Kafka and/or Kinesis.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with modern DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with microservice architecture.
