Sr Software Engineer

Overview

Design, build, deliver and maintain software applications and services across machine, cloud, platform and/or application areas. Own software lifecycle activities including requirement analysis, documentation, procedures and implementation.

What you'll do

• Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimates and justify estimates with facts.
• Demonstrate understanding of the Agile software development lifecycle and distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle.
• Engage in technical discussions, participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through whiteboarding.
• Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation.
• Understand the whole product, its modules and the interrelationship between them while being an expert in the assigned component or module.
• Drive design reviews, define interfaces between code modules and apply existing technology to designs.
• Implement core data structures and algorithms using a language of choice.
• Provide technical leadership and define, develop and evolve software in a fast-paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.
• Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements and vision.
• Proactively identify and remove project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team.
• Share knowledge and credit, establishing trust, credibility and goodwill.
• Evangelize how the technology solves customer problems.
• Provide oversight and mentor team members, including effectively delegating work.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and C# coding principles.
• Hands-on experience in web services (REST), .NET and SQL Database such as PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with web development using React or Angular.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to articulate specific technical topics or assignments.
• Ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.
• Able to work under minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity.
• Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS is a big plus.
• React preferred.
