Sr. Software Engineer (.NET, SQL)

Overview

Work as a Sr. Software (.NET) Engineer developing and supporting high-performing, scalable web applications for a global Public Relations platform.

What you'll do

• Design and develop modern, high-performing, scalable web applications.
• Review business requirement documentation and assist the team in breaking requirements down into user stories for the team backlog.
• Create and maintain technical specifications.
• Develop user stories using C#.NET Web APIs, nodeJS and SQL Server while following best coding practices and writing unit tests.
• Perform code reviews.
• Maintain, support and enhance existing systems and platforms.
• Participate in the implementation, operation and troubleshooting of new cloud-based and cloud-hosted services.
• Build and improve continuous integration and deployment processes (CI/CD).
• Participate virtually or in person in planning meetings for coordination between Scrum teams.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of Agile and DevOps culture and engineering best practices.
• Monitor system performance and create highly scalable and operable systems.
• Develop solutions independently and jointly for complex problems.

What you'll need

• A degree in computer science or comparable qualification.
• 5+ years professional experience as a .NET software engineer.
• Expert experience writing secure APIs, microservices, reusable components and modules.
• Good understanding of .NET web application development, build and deployment.
• Good understanding of front-end technologies like JavaScript and Typescript, and associated frontend frameworks such as Angular (preferred), React, Vue.
• Good understanding of Azure or AWS (Amazon Web Services) application development services.
• Good understanding of nodeJS.
• Collaborative working habits that accelerate the team.
• Very good spoken and written English.
• Practical experience applying agile methodologies, e.g. Scrum.
• A responsible, independent and solution-oriented working style based on an overall understanding of the respective problems.

Nice to have

• Relevant certificates.
• Experience developing enterprise-scale, multi-user applications.
• Solid understanding of designing and optimizing Web APIs for large-scale usage.
• Experience in MVC.NET web-based application development using Microsoft .NET Core, Standard and/or Framework with C#.
• Experience with Dependency Injection.
• Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
• Experience with IIS hosting.
• Experience with SQL Server, schema creation and query optimization.
• Experience in serverless architecture, design and development using AWS services.
• Nice to have experience in Apache SOLR.

Details

• Full-time, permanent position.
• Hybrid role based in Bangalore, India.
• Based out of The Leela Office on Airport Road, Kodihalli, Bangalore.
• Expected to work from the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
