Sr. Systems Administrator

Overview

The Sr. Systems Administrator performs day-to-day infrastructure operations supporting data center operations, hardware, operating systems, user administration, virtualization, and environment backup and recovery. The role reports to the Manager of Systems Engineering and works with team members around the globe to provide 24x7 support.

What you'll do

• Help integrate hardware, software, network, process and procedure.
• Maintain the established Linux/Windows environment and work tickets as required.
• Perform user and group management in LDAP and Windows AD.
• Perform system builds and decommissions as required.
• Patch operating systems, firmware and BIOS of systems.
• Maintain existing infrastructure services, including DNS, LDAP, NTP, monitoring and the environment.
• Assist in integrating hardware, software, network, process and procedure from various business units.
• Execute a data center consolidation plan, including system builds and tear-downs and migration to a different data center.
• Work with team members around the globe to provide 24x7 support, including occasional on-call responsibilities.
• Take direction from team leads to complete projects and acquire information from the team as needed.
• Solve problems using personal experience.
• Assist less experienced team members to complete tasks.
• Develop documentation for standard operating procedures.
• Maintain the current environment and meet users' day-to-day needs.

What you'll need

• Good communication skills.
• Ability to take direction.
• Attention to detail.
• 4+ years of Linux and Unix administration, including Solaris, AIX or other Unix systems.
• 1-2 years of VMware or other virtualization experience.
• 1-2 years of shell scripting using bash, bsh, ksh, sed, awk, Perl, Ruby, Python or PowerShell.
• 3+ years of Windows and Domain Administration for 2003-2012 R2.
• 3+ years of TCP/IP experience.
• 3+ years of hardware management using HP, Dell or Cisco UCS.
• 4+ years of MS-Office experience, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Lync or Skype for Business.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders as required.

Nice to have

• 1-2 years of Citrix administration.
• 1-2 years of F5 load balancer administration.
• 1-2 years of backup administration using NetBackup, Networker or Bacula.
