Sr Technical Specialist

Overview

Sr Technical Specialist at Philips to develop the Philips API, microservices and front-end applications that expose and orchestrate internal and third-party services, working with central horizontal and function-specific vertical teams.

What you'll do

• Participate in the realisation of the platform approach across central horizontal teams and function-specific vertical teams.
• Collaborate with vertical teams in the development and life cycle management (LCM) of the services developed.
• Develop the Philips API, microservices and front-end applications that expose and orchestrate functionality of internal and 3rd-party software.
• Design and write meaningful tests.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (computer science or equivalent) with 10+ years' experience.
• Experience creating microservices that have adopted a managed API way of working targeting cloud deployments.
• Expertise in developing front-end applications in React/Angular.
• Expertise in developing services using SOA/REST/microservice patterns and the associated programming languages used (Java, Python, Go, NodeJS).
• Experience designing APIs and common services in a given domain.
• Experience with cloud technologies offered by public cloud providers and their associated middleware and popular programming languages.
• Experience with Open API Specification and API documentation tools (such as Swagger and Postman).
• Global mindset and ability to work with geographically distributed teams across time zones.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Team player working in cross-functional teams composed of IT, R&D, operations and service across business and markets.
• Ability to appreciate multiple domains (within healthcare and wellness) and their overlaps.
• Sensitivity to cultural differences in globally spread teams.

• Role is part of a geographically distributed team.
• Office-based role: working in person at least 3 days per week.
