Staff Database Engineer - SQL, NoSQL, Terraform

Overview

Staff Database Engineer focused on designing and operating highly available, scalable, reliable, and secure database-backed infrastructure components.

What you'll do

• Design and rearchitect infrastructure platform components with availability, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Own and manage database infrastructure across BigQuery, Redis, AlloyDB, and Cassandra.
• Design, implement, and optimize BigQuery datasets, tables, and queries for large-scale analytics.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and query optimization, including cost and storage efficiency.
• Manage and monitor data ingestion pipelines using Dataflow or Kafka.
• Ensure security, access control, and compliance using IAM policies and encryption.

What you'll need

• 10+ years experience building large-scale distributed systems in always-available production environments.
• 5+ years experience building Infrastructure Platforms and CI/CD pipelines in a public cloud provider (GCP preferred).
• Deep expertise in BigQuery and strong hands-on experience with Redis, AlloyDB, Cassandra, or Cloud Spanner.
• Experience with large-scale data pipelines and stream processing using Dataflow, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Shell/Bash.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools like Grafana or Prometheus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have

• GCP certification.

Details

• Location: India; flexible hybrid work model with work from Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter.
• Use Terraform/Terragrunt for Infrastructure as Code.
• Use Liquibase or similar for schema changes and data migrations.
