Overview

Staff Engineer CPU IP Design Engineer responsible for defining and owning RTL development of an AI-enabled RISC-V CPU core.

What you'll do

• Drive micro-architecture and design of critical CPU core blocks.
• Design a RISC-V Vector CPU core and custom extensions.
• Design an AI-enabled matrix engine to augment the vector CPU.
• Perform microarchitecture development from early exploration to detailed specifications.
• Configure and refine RTL design features to target power, performance, area, and timing.
• Support functional verification and assist RTL performance verification goals.
• Partner with engineering teams to implement and validate physical design aspects.

What you'll need

• Hands-on knowledge of pipeline stages for an in-order or out-of-order high-performance CPU.
• Thorough knowledge of microprocessor architecture in one or more listed areas (e.g., instruction fetch/decode, branch prediction, execution).
• Knowledge of SystemVerilog, Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools.
• Understanding of logic design principles with timing and power implications.
• Master’s degree with 4-7 years of experience or PhD with 2-5 years of work experience.
