Staff Engineer Design

Overview

Design and optimize Flash memory circuits and subsystems within the Non-Volatile Memory Core Functional Group, focusing on performance, power, area, timing, and reliability.

What you'll do

• Own block- and subsystem-level circuit design, optimization, verification, and layout supervision.
• Optimize designs from base-cell through full-chip level using HSPICE, FastSPICE, NC-Verilog, and related tools.
• Collaborate with Logic and RTL teams to define array functionality and develop AMS architectures.
• Coordinate on array waveforms, circuit integration, and full-chip floorplanning.
• Use scripting, automation, and AI technologies to accelerate design, simulation, and validation.
• Develop Micro-Architecture Specifications and design documentation, including ISO 26262 compliance where applicable.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.

What you'll need

• MS or PhD with 2–6 years, or BS with 6–10 years, of relevant semiconductor experience.
• Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Knowledge of CMOS device physics, Flash/NAND architecture, and reliability.
• Experience with HSPICE, FastSPICE, and NC-Verilog.
• Understanding of computer architecture, storage devices, and NAND memory systems.
• Experience with Linux/UNIX and scripting or automation.
• Ability to develop solutions spanning custom circuit and RTL/AMS design.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AI-enabled and Agentic AI technologies for engineering or design applications.
