Staff Engineer - Trust & Vault

Overview

Staff Engineer for Trust & Vault, leading technical architecture for systems that secure card data and optimize its use across transactions.

What you'll do

• Architect foundational, PCI-compliant card vaulting and tokenization systems.
• Build and evolve authentication capabilities including 3DS/SCA and network tokenization.
• Design payment optimization to lift authorization and acceptance rates using network tokens and vaulted data.
• Own account updater and portfolio migration to keep credentials current and migrate card portfolios between vaults and processors.
• Provide hands-on leadership and set technical direction for Trust & Vault via versioned APIs and event-driven design.
• Design resilient, bank-grade systems for a zero-tolerance-for-failure environment.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience as stated for Staff Engineer level.
• Deep expertise in Go and/or Kotlin and strength across the full stack.
• Experience architecting robust, scalable distributed systems with event-driven platforms and APIs (gRPC/REST).
• Strong AWS and cloud-native experience including RDS, ECS, EKS, and S3.
• Excellent automated testing practices (unit, integration, end-to-end) in Agile/DevSecOps/CI/CD.
• Strong technical leadership including mentoring, technical vision, cross-team delivery, and familiarity with DORA metrics.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
