Staff Software Engineer, Claude Code

Overview

Software Engineer role focused on building and maintaining agentic AI coding tools for developers.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable features and infrastructure for AI-powered development tools.
• Engage with developers to gather insights and improve user experience.
• Collaborate with researchers to improve model capabilities using shared tools and evals.
• Experiment with new tools and evaluate emerging techniques in AI-assisted coding.
• Contribute across the stack to develop features, fix bugs, and optimize performance.
• Work in areas like Python notebooks, VS Code plug-ins, and containerized environments.

What you’ll need

• 6+ years of work experience.
• Expertise in React development, including performance optimization and modern patterns.
• Specialization in user experience engineering with full-stack capability.
• Hands-on experience with large language models and prompt engineering.
• Experience with projects that have stringent safety, security, and/or compliance requirements.
• Ability to refine and customize AI workflows.
• Passion for developer tools and developer productivity via AI-assisted coding.

Details

• Hybrid policy: staff are expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
