Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer role for Xometry’s India PDT to build and architect a key global platform area (e.g., Buyer/Partner Experience, Pricing, Quality, Sourcing) and help elevate engineering practices.

What you'll do

• Use AI tools daily for code generation, review, debugging, and design exploration.
• Write and review architectural plans, then participate hands-on in implementation.
• Solve complex technical problems and escalate cross-team tradeoffs when needed.
• Perform code reviews and mentor engineers on code review quality.
• Own technical decisions for your service/domain and deliver software aligned to timelines.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and leadership and collaborate with global teams.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of professional software development experience in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
• Hands-on proficiency with modern AI development tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, code-review copilots, agentic dev tools).
• Backend proficiency with Python for services, APIs, and data-driven systems.
• Frontend proficiency with React and TypeScript, focused on scalable UI design and usability.
• Experience with AWS for deploying, monitoring, and scaling production workloads.
• Proven leadership skills to set technical direction and mentor engineers.
