Staff Software Engineer (Hybrid, Bangalore)

Overview

Staff Software Engineer responsible for setting technical direction across critical, ambiguous, high-stakes problems and shaping long-term architectural strategy.

What you'll do

• Own technical direction for Apollo’s most critical and ambiguous problems across teams.
• Make multi-year architectural bets for the product and platform and be accountable for outcomes.
• Set technical strategy for a rebuild around AI and agents and translate it into execution direction.
• Raise the engineering bar through standards, patterns, and decisions.
• Multiply senior engineer output via design, review, and mentorship.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership on where technology needs to go.

What you'll need

• Track record of setting technical direction shaping a product or platform across an entire engineering organization.
• Depth across distributed systems and architecture, including reliability, scale, and cost tradeoffs.
• Ability to make the hardest calls under ambiguity and align many teams.
• Record of multiplying the most senior engineers around you.
• Genuine, current fluency with AI-assisted development and a point of view on AI’s next impact on engineering.
