Staff+ Software Security Engineer

Overview

Staff+ Software Security Engineer focused on end-to-end security systems for Anthropic’s AI infrastructure and software development lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Own one or two security areas and help define new security architecture.
• Scope, design, and build complex security systems end to end and maintain them in production.
• Identify systematic risks via threat modeling and risk assessment, then build controls and infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring, and grow security engineering culture.
• Provide design pattern guidance so other teams can build their own security solutions.
• Harden CI/CD pipelines against supply chain attacks using isolated build environments and signed attestations.
• Architect protection for sensitive assets and operate credential issuance, rotation, and workload authentication.

What you'll need

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience with deep security expertise.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python or systems languages such as Go, Rust, or C/C++.
• Deep understanding of identity systems, cryptographic primitives, and secrets management.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes security primitives including RBAC, namespaces, network policies, and service accounts.

Details

• Annual compensation range: $405,000–$485,000 USD.
• Location-based hybrid policy: in-office at least 25% of the time.
