Strategy & Operations Manager

Overview

Ethos is looking for a Strategy and Operations Manager to join its fast-growing Direct-to-Consumer business, driving growth initiatives across an expanding product portfolio, multiple channels, and the full customer lifecycle alongside marketing, product, and sales leaders.

What you'll do

• Own and drive defined growth projects from concept to completion, working closely with functional leaders.
• Lead cross-functional projects spanning Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Partnerships, keeping stakeholders aligned and execution moving.
• Support the identification and prioritization of growth opportunities across the product portfolio (term life, IUL, estate planning), the customer lifecycle (acquisition, retention, cross-sell), and channels (organic, performance, paid social, TV, partnerships, referrals).
• Dig into funnel, cohort, channel, and retention data to understand what's driving results and where the biggest opportunities are.
• Build business cases and model unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, contribution margin) to support go/no-go recommendations on new opportunities.
• Develop a working understanding of how products, channels, and teams interact, and use it to help teams focus on the highest-impact work.
• Partner with teams across the org to identify and pilot AI use cases that improve decision-making, output quality, and efficiency, and share what works with others.

What you'll need

• 4-6+ years of total experience, ideally 2+ years in management consulting or investment banking, followed by 2+ years in Strategy & Operations, Growth, or a similar role at a high-growth, venture-backed company.
• Comfortable building models from scratch in Excel and SQL (or similar tools) and breaking ambiguous problems into clear frameworks.
• Track record of tracking down data and pursuing the next question past the first dead end.
• Cross-functional collaborator and communicator who builds trust quickly with marketing, product, sales, and engineering, moves projects forward without formal authority, and communicates clearly in writing and in front of senior leaders.
• Fast-moving operator who owns projects end-to-end, ramps quickly, and makes decisions without perfect information.
• Actively experiments with AI tools, at work or personally, and shares what they learn with others.
